I made boxing history when I was 16; I became the first female amateur boxer in the U.S. to have a sanctioned amateur bout. Until then, the U.S. Amateur Boxing Federation excluded females. I filed a discrimination suit, forcing them to set up a women’s division. I won by a unanimous decision.
Later I portrayed myself in the movie “Jerry McGuire."
I recently returned to my original love—bodybuilding, and started competing last year.
My life is about overcoming obstacles and helping others do the same.
